Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Erik Lamela has left the door open for a future return to Roma.
After a tumultuous start to his Spurs career, the Argentine has become a mainstay in coach Mauricio Pochettino’s lineup but continues to look back fondly over his time in Rome.
“I watch Roma play whenever I can and I am happy to have seen them recover from their earlier struggles and challenge for the Scudetto,” Lamela told Fox Sports.
“I am happy to be a Tottenham player while entering the prime of my career but you never know what can happen in the future, perhaps I will return to Rome one day.
“I was very young when I scored my first goal for them and it will always be an important one for me.”
The 24-year-old has featured in 33 matches for Spurs across all competitions, registering nine goals and five assists.
