Tottenham to make a formal bid for Weston McKennie in January

Published on: 24 December 2021

Spurs manager Antonio Conte has given the green light for club bosses to make an offer for the United States men’s national team midfielder next month.

The future of Weston McKennie is up in the air. Juventus are willing to part ways with him - but only for the right price. The Serie A giants are looking to rebuild the team and even though Massimiliano Allegri is keen to keep the United States international, McKennie could bring in a good sum of money.

Tottenham ready to make a bid

Earlier this year Juventus paid Schalke a total of £25 million over a three-year period to make the move permanent and signed him until 2025. According to Calciomercato, Tottenham are preparing a serious offer to the Serie A giants to sign Weston McKennie during the next transfer window.

Spurs manager Antonio Conte is an admirer of the United States men’s national team player because of his versatility in midfield. The Italian boss is also not too fond of Dele Alli, Harry WInks and Tanguy Ndombele who could be offered on the deal in an effort to sign McKennie and make the price drop.

Weston McKennie has adapted well to Juventus since arriving last year. The USMNT midfielder has made 64 appearances for the Old Lady across all competitions and he won the 2020 Italian Super Cup title. Now he could switch teams if both clubs reach an agreement in the next couple of weeks.
