Toure sits out Kotoko training ahead of Liberty clash

Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure was not involved in Friday's training session ahead of Sunday's League clash with Liberty Professionals.

The Ivorian arrived back in Kumasi on Thursday after taking a compassionate leave to visit his ailing mother.

Management and supporters who were expecting Toure back ahead of the start of the second round are however unhappy he overstayed his two-week leave and are intent on dishing Â out sanctions.

A scheduled meeting between management, the coach and the player on Friday a final verdict was expected to emanate failed to come off and Toure subsequently sat out the evening's training session.

"The coach wanted to concentrate on the players fit and available to play on Sunday hence the decision to leave out Toure from the session," Kotoko's Public and Supporters Relations Manager Listowell Bukarson told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Kotoko will thus go into Sunday's Premier League clash against Liberty Professionals with the aim of strengthening their hold on top spot without the recalcitrant striker.
