Turkish Superlig side Trabzonspor are keeping tabs on Ghanaian forward Benjamin Tetteh who is currently on loan at Yeni Malatyaspor.

Reports suggest Congolese striker Benik Afobe will not continue his stay at the club when his loan spell ends in June 2021.

Afobe is playing on loan from English Championship side Stoke City having joined in September 2020.

Trabzonspor head coach Abdullah Avcı has identified Tetteh as the replacement for Afobe when he leaves at the end of the season.

"We need a player like Tetteh. A tall player who can play with his back facing the castle. We are looking for a striker who can score with his head. We bought Afobe but it didn't happen,"

"We've been watching Tetteh for a while. We will follow him more closely from now on." Avcı told the player's manager Erdi Demir.

Tetteh, 23, is on loan at Malatyaspor from Czech Republic giants Sparta Prague till the end of the season.

The Ghana U23 striker has scored 4 goals in 22 games in all competitions this season for Malatyaspor.
