Trabzonspor Club President Ahmet AÄŸaoÄŸlu showered praises on Caleb Ekuban following last Sunday's win against Ankaragucu in the Turkish Super League.
Trabzonspor secured a 4-1 win over Ankaragucu with Ekuban scoring two goals in the game to record his first brace in the Turkish top-flight according to Opta data.
The Ghana International took eight minutes to open the scoring at the Medical Park Stadyumu in Trabzon.
However, Ankaragucu levelled things up in the 26th minute when Ibrahim Akdag converted a penalty.
Just before the half-hour mark, the 26-year-old found the back of the net again to restore their lead.
Two minutes later, Djaniny Tavares made it three-nil before Edgar Ié netted the fourth goal.
President Ahmet AÄŸaoÄŸlu congratulated the team after the win and praised Ekuban and Djaniny for their efforts during the period.
"Three points are always good, but three points with four goals are of course even better."
“Ekuban had an extraordinary performance today. Djaniny played as himself today and it turned out to be a good result, "he added.
Caleb Ekuban has scored eight goals in the ongoing campaign in 24 appearances.
He has been invited for Ghana's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa and Sao Tome.
