MANUEL PELLEGRINI has opened talks with Valencia about succeeding Gary Neville.
Neville was axed last week after just four months in charge of the club, with Pellegrini their preferred candidate to take over next season.
And the outgoing Manchester City boss has now outlined his conditions for taking the job.
Pellegrini, who also has an offer on the table from Zenit St Petersburg, is interested, but wants certain assurances before giving Valencia serious consideration.
He wants total control over transfers and a commitment to encourage youth development at all levels.
Pellegrini also believes Valencia could need up to five new signings to become competitive, and wants assurances he will get them.
