Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak are inching closer to securing defender Alfred Nelson from city-rivals Liberty Professionals, GHANAsoccernet.com has learnt.

The Phobians have reached advanced stages of their negotiations with the Dansoman-based side and are likely to wrap up the deal before the end of the week.

GHANAsoccernet.com disclosed Hearts' intentions to sign the Liberty captain a fortnight ago and the Phobians are close to making the deal materialise.

The defender 184 cm defender has consented to the move and will earn around $15,000 if Hearts and Liberty reach an agreement.

Hearts new head coach Herbert Addo has been tasked to build a strong squad for domestic and continental competition and he believes the 21-year-old who played for Swiss second-tier side Stade Nyonnais two seasons ago can form an integral part of his plans in the coming season.
