Hearts of Oak captain Moro Abubakar has hinted he would remain with the Ghanaian giants despite being declared a free agent by the Ghana Football Association's Player Status Committee.

The 22-year-old failed to reach agreement with the Phobians over a new deal and applied to be declared a free agent by the Ghana Football Association.

"We're still talking and I won't like to reach the details yet but if everything goes well I will sign a new contract for the club," Moro told Accra-based Asempa FM.

Hearts new head coach Herbert Addo is keen on having the defensive midfielder in his squad for the upcoming season as he seeks to end the club's trophy drought and the Ghana CHAN squad member has similar ambitions if he stays.

"I've been with Hearts for 5 seasons and haven't won anything yet and I'm eager to change that and win titles with them for the upcoming season," he added.

Moro joined Hearts from second-tier side Tudu Mighty Jets.
