West Ham keen on signing Ghana striker Gyan

Rumors suggest that West Ham United are keen on signing one of the World Cup’s biggest stars Asamoah Gyan. The Ghanaian was in the headlines for all the right reasons this summer (despite his controversial penalty miss in the quarterfinals), and Caught Offside  is reporting that Hammers boss Avram Grant is interested in signing Gyan.

West Ham struggled in the Premier League last season as they narrowly avoided relegation, and now Avram Grant is keen on bulking up his attacking options.

Gyan scored three goals in five World Cup appearances this summer en route to a heartbreaking quarterfinal exit, and at just 24 years of age it’s inevitable that he will move to a big club this summer.

Reports indicate that the Rennes striker could be available for a price of around £8 million, which would be good value in an inflated transfer market.

Gyan showed this summer that he has pace, power, and finishing skills.

The striker scored Ghana’s match winning goal in the round of 16 against the United States after breaking free from the American defense and volleying home past Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard.

The Ghanaian has played in Serie A in the past, with stints at Udinese and Modena.

He made his international debut for the Black Stars at the tender age of just 17.
