Trelleborgs FF manager Peter Swärdh praises signing of forward Fatawu Safiu

Trelleborgs FF manager Peter Swärdh is delighted by the signing of Kotoko striker Fatawu Safiu on a season long loan. 

The 25-year old joined the Swedish club after excelling following weeks of trails in the Scandinavian country.

“With Fatawu Safiu we get an experienced and strong striker who can also play in all attack positions. He is creative and should strengthen our offensive qualities," says Peter Swärdh.

Safiu has been an integral figure in the Porcupine Warriors set up since joining from Eleven Wonders FC.

The former Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps youngster netted thrice and assisted two in the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup.

He also scored 11 goals to help Asante Kotoko SC to clinch the Special Competition Tier 1 giving them the opportunity to represent Ghana in the 2019/2020 CAF Champions League.

Following his outstanding performances for the Red side, Safiu was included in Ghana's provisional squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
