Two Asante Kotoko officials have been charged with misconduct by the Ghana Football Association following rioting scenes in their 1-0 defeat at home to Berekum Chelsea last week.

The club's communication chief Kennedy Boakye Ansah and operations manager Isaac Donkor have been slapped with the charges for their respective roles in the chaotic scenes.

They are to serve a five-match ban and pay GHc5000 each in accordance with Article 34(7) of the GFA Premier League Regulations if they accept the charges leveled against them.

They are alleged to have invaded the inner perimeter to incite the supporters against referee Charles Bulu.

They forced a dismissed defender Ampem Dacosta to ignore the referee's decision to send him off which sparked chaos at the Baba Yara stadium.

Their action led to sporadic attack -leading to a fan being shot by the police.

"The two Asante Kotoko Officials have within two days to either accept the charge and immediately comply with the sanctions and that will end this matter or otherwise proceed to submit their Statements of Defence." portion of the FA statement read.

The Ghana FA has reduced five-match home ban on giants Asante Kotoko but increased the Kumasi-based side with a GHc20,000 fine over the violence during their league match against the Blues.

The Porcupine Warriors were initially banned from the Kumasi Sports Stadium for five home matches and fined GHc10,000 following the incident that saw pitch invasion and throwing of missiles at match officials.
