Sergiño Dest scored his first goal with FC Barcelona and Konrad de la Fuente made his debut in the team’s 4-0 victory against Dynamo Kyiv.

Football Club Barcelona clinched the first place of group G after defeating Dynamo Kyiv 4-0 on matchday 4 of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night. Two United States men’s national team players made history in Kyiv with so many injuries coach Ronald Koeman gave them his confidence in Europe’s most important tournament.

Dest scored the first goal of the game

The second half started with a scoreless draw in Kyiv, but in the 53nd minute Sergiño Dest took the ball from teammate Martin Braithwaite inside the box and didn’t miss his opportunity because his shot saw the back of the net. This was the first goal of the game and Dest became the first American to score for FC Barcelona.

Barcelona has played four matches so far and Dest has started in three of those games. The only game he didn’t play was against Juventus on matchday 2, because Koeman chose not to put him in.

Good evening Barça fans. I am really happy to score my first UEFA Champions League goal and in such an important game like this. Hopefully many more to come, good evening,” said Dest after the game.

Konrad makes his debut

Konrad de la Fuente was promoted to the first team this year and he played his first minutes during a pre-season match. It was not until matchday 4 that he made his official debut with FC Barcelona when he came in as a substitute in the 83rd minute in place of Trincao. The striker became the second American in the history to play for FC Barcelona, Dest was the first one.

I am very happy with my debut and for the win. I would keep working hard and bringing my best to the team. Lets go Barça!,” said de la Fuente after the game.
