Newly-promoted UAE Arabian Gulf League side Fujairah have signed Ghana international Charles Takyi, according to reports.

The 29-year-old offensive midfielder will join Ivory Coast striker Boubacar Sanogo and Lebanon’s Hassan Maatouk as their only foreign players.

Takyi spent last season with German Bundesliga II side where he made 21 appearances and scored two goals.

The career of the former St Pauli player has plummeted since playing for Ghana at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

Takyi has three international caps under belt.

If the deal is confirmed, he will be playing against Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan who is in books of Al Ain.
