Udinese match decisive for future of Fiorentina coach

Published on: 23 October 2020

Fiorentina coach Giuseppe Iachini might be out of a job after the Gigliati play Udinese and he could be replaced by Maurizio Sarri.

The Viola host the Zebrette at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Sunday evening, and although Fiorentina patron Rocco Commisso has reportedly not given the tactician an ultimatum, the fans have been discontent with the club’s start to the 2020/21 Serie A season.

According to La Repubblica, some Gigliati directors had dinner with Sarri on Tuesday night, but the board have vehemently denied that such a meeting took place.

Even so, it seems that a positive result for the Viola is needed against the Friulani if Iachini is to have any job security for the time being.

Fiorentina are currently 12th in the Serie A table after four rounds and they have not won since the first matchday when they defeated Torino the solitary goal.

Meanwhile, Udinese are 17th after they registered their first victory of the season against Parma on Sunday.
