Former Ghana international, Asamoah Gyan has spoken out on Otto Addo’s decision to drop Andre Ayew from the Black Stars squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana prepare for the World Cup Qualifiers in June, 2024.

The Black Stars will face Mali and Central African Republic. First game will take place on June 6 and the second is scheduled for June 10.

Currently, Ghana are 4th in Group I after two games with three points.

“For me, Andre has done so much for Ghana. He started way back in 2007, and he has been consistent in the national team. He is the most capped player,” Gyan said on Joy FM.

“I think the coach has made his decision. Personally, I played with Andre, and he has done everything for Ghana, but this is the situation whereby we have to move on. The coach has made his decision.”
