Chelsea Offers 24-year-old Star to Real Madrid in Bid for Valverde Swap

Sources from Defensa Central  have indicated Real Madrid’s keen interest in reinforcing their right-back position, with James featuring prominently on their shortlist.

With James committed to Chelsea until 2028, the Premier League side is poised to command a significant transfer fee if a direct player exchange isn’t achievable. To make the proposal more economically viable, Chelsea has expressed openness to a player-to-player exchange, proposing that Real Madrid send Valverde in return.

Chelsea has previously attempted to secure Valverde’s services twice, only to face resistance from both the player and Real Madrid. Despite these challenges, Chelsea remains determined to add the versatile Uruguayan to their squad. Valverde’s ability to contribute across various positions, including attacking and defensive midfield, as well as right-back, makes him a valuable asset for the English club.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, is not solely focused on James. Their pursuit of defensive reinforcements extends to the left-back position, with Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies emerging as a potential target. Valverde, at 23 years old, holds a pivotal role in the Real Madrid setup and is under contract until 2027.

The interest in Reece James from Real Madrid is not a newfound admiration, as the Spanish giants have openly expressed their desire to secure his signature. The right-back position is currently a concern for Madrid, with Lucas Vazquez and Dani Carvajal as the primary options, both of whom are over 30 years old.
