Mikel Arteta has confirmed Mohamed Elneny will miss Arsenal’s next game with Manchester City.
Gunners will be in action versus Pep Guardiola’s side in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday evening.
Mikel Arteta’s team will be hoping to celebrate a win and advance to the next stage of the domestic competition.
Ahead of the meeting, Arteta met the media to share the latest team news. The manager didn’t have a positive update on Elneny’s fitness, claiming the player is set to be unavailable for the game.
“I don’t think he will be [fit vs Manchester City],” he told the media.
“He had some issues with his knee that we are assessing, I’ll have to see how it evolves in the next couple of days. There are some concerns [it’s long-term], especially as Mo never complains about anything.”
