Araujo could miss the World Cup totally due to an injury despite making it to the squad.
The Defender left for the World Cup yet to be cleared by his club side following his injury issues.
Though Xavi sanctioned the trip for Araujo to join his countryside for the World Cup, but the side also stated the condition that he doesn’t start in the early games until he has fully recovered.
The Catalans also went as far as threatening to report Uruguay if they go against their agreement on Araujo with Uruguay now careful on their decisions for the player.
Araujo is currently considered an important part of the Catalans defense and with Uruguay keen on keeping their promise to Barcelona, they have now decided on what to do with the player.
Uruguay say that Ronald Araujo is ruled out of their first 2 group stage games and his participation in the last group stage game is almost impossible. They add that Araujo will not be risked and won’t play until he is fully healthy.
