Redzonesports – Overview & Rating
Redzonesports.bet operates in English.
Named after a section of an American Football field, RedzoneSports was founded in 2016. It is specialised in American sports such as NFL, Major League Baseball and the NBA, while catering to the UK and European audience. They have since expanded their service to include almost all major sports but their unique approach at the beginning has endeared them to the growing UK fanbase of American sports.
RedzoneSports are owned and operated by Argyll Entertainment and are regulated and licensed by the Gambling Commission in the United Kingdom. They have been licensed since May 2016 to offer betting on real events, bingo, and casino. In July 2017 they expanded their license so they could offer betting on virtual events.
RedzoneSports have an affiliate scheme although there are no specific commission rates advertised. RedzoneSports advertise flexible deals for their affiliates with a lifetime revenue share or CPA for every player.
While there is no list of restricted countries within RedzoneSports’ Terms and Conditions, they do state that the responsibility lies with the customer in ensuring they are following their territories gambling laws.
Design
Despite being named RedzoneSports the use of red on the site is subtle and goes well with the predominantly navy-blue base making the site stand out.
To the left of the screen, they have their most popular sports listed such as Horse Racing, English Premier League and Championship Football and also American sports such as NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL. You can also use the search icon just above that list to search for an event to bet on.
Underneath this, there is a more comprehensive list of sports to bet on which appears to be in the order of popularity followed by the rest in alphabetical order.
The centre of the screen is dedicated to in-play betting. This can also be changed so that it shows upcoming events, and on the right side of the screen, there is plenty of space for your betting slip. The space is used well, there is no clutter, and it is easy to understand.
Across the top of the screen just under the Redzone logo, they have separate categories for sports, in-play, casino, live casino, virtuals and their promotions.
RedzoneSports also has a mobile app that can be downloaded from the Apple App Store so you can bet on the move.
Services
RedzoneSports offer sports betting as well as a casino, live casino, and virtual sports.
They have just under 100 games in their casino to choose from including slots games, various versions of Blackjack, Poker and Roulette.
They also have 20 live casino games to play if you prefer the interactive approach to casino gaming. Within the casino, there is also a live chat function where you can speak to other players while betting.
There are also nine virtual sports offered by RedzoneSports including Instant Football, Instant Speedway, and Instant Horses.
From starting off with just American sports Redzone have now expanded their range to include sports such as Beach Volleyball, Water Polo, Gaelic Football and Hurling. The list also includes staple sports you would expect any reputable bookmaker to have like Football, Rugby Union, Rugby League and Golf.
RedzoneSports offer competitive prices compared to major bookies such as Bet365 and Paddy Power. In the recent English Premier League match between Manchester City and Chelsea, RedzoneSports were the best price alongside Bet365 with favourites Man City getting the victory. For the draw, they were just edged out by the other bookies and for a Chelsea victory, both other bookies offered a fair bit more value.
The average margin on pre-match betting is between 6-7%.
Live
RedzoneSports offer live betting on pretty much all of the sports they offer pre-match betting on. Their in-play Football offering even stretches as far as the Brisbane Premier League in Australia, so this shows the range of markets offered by RedzoneSports.
They offer betting on a range of Basketball leagues around the world as well as the usual sports such as Tennis, Golf and Baseball.
RedzoneSports offer live streaming for most Horse and Greyhound races. The streaming is of a high quality with commentary included, but you must bet a minimum of £1 on the specific race to be able to watch it. There are no other sports offered for live streaming at this time though this may change in the future.
The margin for live betting with RedzoneSports is between 4-6%.
Freebies, Bonuses and Promotions
There is a free bet offer for new customers where if you bet £10 on a double you get a £10 free bet to be used on a double. To qualify for this, you must use the offer code RZTENDOUBLE when depositing money, and you must place your bet within 48 hours of registering for an account. The minimum odds in each selection must be 7/10.
The free bet offer, however, is not advertised anywhere on RedzoneSports’ website. We only became are of this for this offer by emailing RedzoneSports directly.
RedzoneSports has a promotions section on their page, however, when you click into this the page tells you that you need to be logged in to view the promotions. During this review, an account was created in order to view the promotions. On the promotions page there was no promotions, just a small message reading, “Redzone special offers and bonus campaigns are run weekly. Please be sure to check here each week for your eligibility.”
This is very misleading on RedzoneSports’ part to have a promotions page that you can only view by logging in, to then be met with no promotions whatsoever.
Customer Care
RedzoneSports are available via live chat and email only. There is no phone number available for verbal contact. The live chat option is only available from 10 am-10 pm UK time, which could be quite prohibitive for those customers who have come to RedzoneSports for American sports.
RedzoneSports advise that they aim to respond to live chat queries in an average time of three minutes. However, during this review, there was no response for over 20 minutes before the chat window then disappeared.
RedzoneSports also advise the average response time to an email is 48 hours, which they sadly exceeded during this review.
Registration
Bettors from the United Kingdom can gamble with RedzoneSports as they are registered with the Gambling Commission.
You can register for a betting account with RedzoneSports by clicking the join button in the top-right corner. Next, you will be asked for your name, date of birth and email address.
On the next screen, you will be asked to provide your country (only United Kingdom and Ireland are listed) and then your address. This suggests that only residents of the UK or Republic of Ireland are able to register for an account.
On the final screen, you will be asked to create your username and password and to set your deposit limit. This can be up to £5000 either daily, weekly, or monthly. After this, you accept the Terms and Conditions and then select create an account and you are ready to go.
From start to finish the process takes a few minutes.
RedzoneSports uses a third-party verification service to verify customers. However, if they are unable to do this successfully, they will ask for identification to prove you are over the age of 18 such as Passport, Drivers Licence, or a National Identity Card.
Financial Information
RedzoneSports accepts deposits in Pound Sterling and Euro.
The minimum bet accepted by RedzoneSports is 10p, the maximum bet allowed differs from sport to sport and also depends on the particular betting market. On the betting slip when making your selection there is a “max bet” button you can click which will show you the maximum stake accepted.
The minimum deposit with RedzoneSports is £10, while the minimum withdrawal amount is £20 which may put some low-staking customers off.
The maximum payout per day, per customer for RedzoneSports varies depending on the sport. The maximum payout across the whole site is £250,000 which is for NFL betting. Most Football matches are capped at only £100,000. Football bettors should be aware of this limit as sometimes accumulators can lead to higher payouts than £100,000. Although RedzoneSports would only be obliged to pay you £100,000 as per their betting rules.
The maximum payout for Horse Racing single bets is only £100,000 whereas for multiples bets this rises to £200,000.
RedzoneSports do not charge tax on winnings as per the regulations in the UK.
Safety
RedzoneSports appears to be a safe site, they are owned by Argyll Entertainment who also operate SportNation so you can be certain this is a reputable bookmaker. They are also SSL encrypted so your personal information and card details are safe.
Overall, customer reviews are mostly favourable on Trustpilot with 75% of reviews combined either excellent or great. However, with an overall score of 2.6 based on recent reviews and whether RedzoneSports respond to reviews, they come out with a poor rating.
The favourable reviews mention quick payouts – sometimes within a few hours. A few customers mentioned having to show ID to verify themselves before being able to withdraw. However, the process was very quick which was pleasing.
It was also mentioned that RedzoneSports is easy to use, and they offer good promotions, however, since then RedzoneSports seem to have cut back on promotions.
Other reviews complained about being restricted to £1 bets, having accounts closed for winning, and poor customer service, which could point to a low-risk threshold as far as betting liability goes.
What’s missing?
There are no ongoing promotions on offer currently with RedzoneSports in both the sportsbook and the casino. As promotions are key to attracting new customers and keeping loyal customers interested this is a severe error of judgement on RedzoneSports’ behalf.
The fact that you also have to log in to view the promotions page just to see that there are no promotions is also very misleading. Even if there were promotions to be viewed, these should be able to be viewed by anyone for transparency. Thus, potential customers can see what they may get before choosing whether to sign up or not.
The welcome offer is also not advertised, instead, you have to email RedzoneSports to ask if there are any welcome offers which again is not very transparent or customer friendly. Customers should not have to ask for a welcome offer, it should be advertised on the website to make it easy for the potential customer to decide if it is worth registering or not.
RedzoneSports‘ should also lower both their minimum deposit of £10 and minimum withdrawal of £20. These current minimums could put off low staking customers as they would potentially need to win numerous bets in order to make a withdrawal.
RedzoneSports could also do with increasing their maximum payouts as these are very low. Most gamblers gamble for fun and in the hope of winning life-changing sums of money, there is no such chance with the maximum payouts on offer here.
Apart from that the website looks modern, has lots of betting opportunities and is easy to use.
Redzonesports offers sports betting, in-play betting, betting on virtuals, slots, casino, live casino and games options. The same services are available in mobile mode. Redzonesports offers only a sports betting app for the iOS platform.
