Published on: 25 October 2017

Michael Akpe's unbeaten Ghana Technology University College face the biggest test yet of their title credentials when they host University of Ghana on Saturday -  a fixture that always has a little extra spice.

GTUC are second on the Southern table with six points from two games, but haven't faced two of the title contenders this season.

Two wins from their opening two games, with eight goals scored an only one conceded, have raised expectations in Tesano, but the coming weeks should give a stronger indication of of how just ready GTUC are for a real push for the title.

GTUC take on the University of Ghana on Saturday October 28 before taking on All Nations University College on November 4, with their final fixture against current league leaders Accra Technical University in the offing on November 11.

The fixture is expected to add an extra edge with the passion from the stands expected to create a special atmosphere at the main stadium of the University of Ghana.

"The game against the University of Ghana away is the ultimate test, mentally and physically with the intensity," midfielder Abednego Prince told tflghana.com .

" The atmosphere will be brilliant and it is a game which you dare not lose as a player."

Particular focus will be on GTUC's duo George Richardson and Mawuli Agato, who have been in prolific form, contributing five of the eight goals scored so far.

Striker Richardson bagged a sensational hat-trick in their 4-1 win over GIMPA but there have are still some who question whether he can be just as effective against better opponents.

While Richardson - and GTUC - will want to prove that they are the real deal, University of Ghana badly need to win to kick-start their campaign after a tricky beginning.

Alhaji Yussif Tahiru's side have amassed four points from two games, leaving them three points behind their city rivals  Accra Technical University,

The exciting attacking talent in the GTUC team, should test the University of Ghana defence that has conceded two goals so far.

The game is expected to be an appetizing for fans who are expected to troop to the stadium to watch their stars.
