Hearts of Oak midfielder Uriah Asante is delighted to have made full recovery from an injury that has kept him out of action for two months.

The 19-year-old has not featured for the side since he suffered a groin injury in their Premier League clash against arch-rivals Asante Kotoko on 20 November at the Accra Sports stadium.

Asante was scheduled to be back in action before the league went for the festive break but team doctors insisted he stayed on the sidelines to regain full recovery.

He has now been passed fully fit and will be available for selection when struggling AshantiGold come to town on the return of the Ghana Premier League on 8 January.

The Ghana youth international is thrilled with his return to the pitch.

''I am very happy to be been cleared by the medical team because I feel refreshed and ready to go on Sunday,'' Asante said.

''I feel I'm important to the team at this moment.

''It's crucial to have all players fully fit at this time of the league because any slips could cause us.

''We have to fight hard and hopefully I can contribute my own quota in our game against AshantiGold if I get selected.''
