Uriah Asante to swerve Kotoko for Tunisia move

Published on: 03 July 2012

Uriah Asante’s proposed move to Kotoko is set to collapse after Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel slapped in a bid to sign the ex-Hearts of Oak striker.

Etoile have moved in with a $200,000 offer to sign him from his parent club PureJoy but he has to pass trial and a medical test before the deal is sealed.

The 19-year-old opted not to extend his contract with the Accra-side after his loan deal with the Phobians expired last month.

This prompted their arch rivals Kotoko to move in with an offer to his parent club but with the bigger offer coming from Tunisia, Asante is set to snub the offer from the Porcupine Warriors.

Asante has grown to become one of the exciting players of the Ghanaian top flight and was part of Ghana’s U-23 side that won an historic gold medal at the 2011 All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique.
