Valencia unhappy ref overlooked Joseph Aidoo penalty tackle in defeat to Celta Vigo

Valencia have complained bitterly over officiating after referee Jesús Manzano failed to penalize Joseph Aidoo for a poor tackle on Manu Vallejo in the 2-1 loss against Celta Vigo on Saturday.

Celta Vigo recorded their first win in the 2020/21 LaLiga season after inflicting a 2-1 defeat on Valencia at the Estadio de Balaídos on Matchday 2.

Iago Aspas broke the deadlock for the Sky Blues in the 13th minute before Valencia pulled parity through Maximiliano Gomez one minute after the recess.

Celta Vigo restored their lead in the 57th minute after Aspas curled a wonderful free-kick into the top left corner.

In the 88th minute, the visitors had a legitimate penalty shout after Ghana defender Joseph Aidoo clattered into the back of Manu Vallejo but referee Jesús Manzano waved off the protest.

Referee Manzano did not review the incident on the video assistant referee (VAR) and that prompted the Bats to question officiating on Twitter.

A defeat without excuses, although we are still waiting for a VAR image with line and the review of all decisive actions in the area Eyes . No matter what season you read this ...

Una derrota sin excusas, aunque todavía seguimos a la espera de una imagen de VAR con línea y de la revisión de todas las acciones decisivas en el área ?. Da igual qué temporada leas esto... pic.twitter.com/9UEtOTPehU
