VÃ¥lerenga midfielder Mohammed Abu has been to told to look for a new club.

The 28-year-old has struggled since he joined from Major Soccer League side Columbus Crew.

The situation of the Ghanaian has been more difficult following the signing of Fredrik Oldrup.

Coach Dag-Eilev Fagermo has confirmed holding talks with the player to look for a new employer.

"I don't really know, there you probably have to ask Jørgen Ingebrigtsen (sporting leader in VIF, jour.anm) and Abu himself, but we agree that Oldrup will move in because we want a different type of entry, and that Abu can then look for a new employer, he said.

The midfielder, who is on a training tour of Spain with the side opened up a little about the situation and his own time at the club.

"My period at the club has been ok. To be honest, I don't have much to say. All I will say is that it has been fine. I don't have much more to say, Abu tells Nettavisen.

The former Strømsgodset player also confirmed that he has had a conversation with Fagermo about his future at the club.

" Yes, we did. He is the coach and has decided that I am not in his plans. I respect that and there is nothing more to say about it.

"I'm a professional football player. That happens every day. I respect his choice, he is the coach. He needs players that he thinks are good for him, so I'm ok. I'm happy to move on.

He says  he does not have any specific offers on the table right now, but that he is confident that he will be pleased with it.

"Not yet. I feel good and then we'll see. I'll probably get something that I'm happy with. Anything. No specific club or venue. I'm ready, wherever football leads me. It must also be good for my family, then I would say yes to it.
