Louis van Gaal has expressed his delight at Wayne Rooney’s recent form and hopes he can maintain it to help keep Manchester United moving up the table and towards Champions League qualification.
Rooney scored in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Stoke last night and the win has gone some way to reducing the pressure on Van Gaal.
After his strike last night Rooney is just 5 goals behind Sir Bobby Charlton’s all-time club goals record of 249.
