Ventura: Torino dominated Hellas Verona

Published on: 31 January 2016

Torino coach Giampiero Ventura insists that his side performed well enough to beat Hellas Verona during their Serie A game at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Granata could only muster up a 0-0 draw against the bottom side but the coach is taking the positives from the match.

“We performed well but we could not finish our chances,” Ventura told Rai Sport.

“We outplayed them for 90 minutes but were not rewarded for our efforts.”

Torino currently see themselves in 11th place and Ventura hopes to see his side move up the Serie A table.

“We must continue to try and climb the table,” Ventura added.

“We began the year playing well but injuries have affected our performances.”

Il Toro wasted numerous opportunities in front of goal but Ventura was surprisingly light hearted in his response.

“Maybe we need to go to Lourdes,” Ventura joked.

“In all seriousness, we have many young players who can still grow but this takes time.”
