Ghanaian midfielder Joseph Adjei was named man-of-the-match for Al Malkiya as they drew goalless with Al Ahed on matchday two of the Asian Football Cup on Tuesday.

The versatile former Wa All Stars star was handed the award at the end of the match following his impressive display in just his second outing of the competition.

Adjei was a key figure for the Bahraini side during their 2-1 win over Al Suwaiq in the opening fixture of Group C.

But the 23-year-old's performance in Tuesday's stalemate with the Lebanese side earned the best player accolade.

Adjei, who was deployed as a central midfielder, made several important tackles and crucial forays into the opponents' half which drew huge plaudits from the pundits of the game.

He has established himself in the side since joining last year from American USL side OKC Energy.
