Vidal tipped to leave Barcelona and join Boca Juniors by Chile team-mate Medel

Arturo Vidal could be set for a summer exit from Barcelona to join Boca Juniors according to international team-mate Gary Medel.

The Chilean international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Camp Nou this summer, after finding less game-time since the appointment of Quique Setien.

Clubs such as Inter Milan and Newcastle are both reportedly interested in the midfielder, however Bologna player Medel claims Vidal fancies a move to the Argentinian side.

In an interview with Radio Continental, he said: ‘Vidal wants to go to Boca, with or without me.’

Medel who also hinted a move to Boca added: ‘He loves Boca and is dying to go there.’

Vidal in a recent Instagram Live interview made it clear he has no intention of helping Barcelona find him a new team.

He told journalist Mario Velasco: ‘I am very happy and comfortable in Barcelona and of course I want to stay here. I am also feeling in better shape than ever. This is a good group and I have got great friends in the dressing room.’

Despite his claims the club are keen to sell or swap players in the upcoming transfer window.

And if Vidal is forced out, it has previously been reported that a reunion with Antonio Conte at Inter Milan is his preferred option.

The duo enjoyed a successful stint together at Juventus winning three Serie A titles, and Conte is looking to add more experience to his squad ahead of the next season.

Medel played for Boca Juniors between 2009 and 2011 and is hoping to return to the side where he scored seven goals in 46 appearances.
