La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal will be fined after his sending off during the 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The Chilean midfielder, brought to San Siro from Barcelona ahead of the campaign, was sent off at 1-0 down in the decisive match against Los Blancos in the group stage of the Champions League.

The match ended in a 2-0 defeat after goals by Eden Hazard and an own goal by Achraf Hakimi and left Inter bottom of Group B with two points from four games.

It increased the pressure on coach Antonio Conte, as Inter sit five points behind qualification for the last 16 and La Gazzetta reports the midfielder will be severely fined for putting his teammates in a difficult position during the home game against the Spanish champions.

Vidal went down in the box under pressure from Real Madrid’s players, but the referee didn’t give a penalty and the Nerazzurri player was booked for dissent after his reaction. Referee Anthony Taylor swiftly brought out the second yellow and a red card as Vidal didn’t back down.
