Supporters of Hearts of Oak travelled to Kumasi to join Asante Kotoko for the vigil organised for the late Francis Yaw Frimpong.
Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley, tragically died on Sunday, February 2, 2024, during the Ghana Premier League game between Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC.
Nana Pooley is a staunch Kotoko fan and was stabbed to death after violence broke in Nsuatre during the matchday 19 encounter.
The fans of Hearts of Oak united with their rivals in show of solidarity for the fan, who passing has left Ghana's football in a state of mourning.
In showing their respect to Nana Pooley, the fans gathered at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium with lighted candles as they sang and chanted his name. They also held placards with the inscription 'Justice for Nana Pooley.'
Joining the fans were players, the management team and technical staff of the club.
Following the death of the supporter, the Ghana Football Association suspended matchday 20 games in the Premier League while investigations was opened into the murder of Nana Pooley.
The Ghana FA met the Ghana Police Service to discuss issues relating to the safety and security of fans before the league resumes.
Meanwhile, the police have made some arrests as part of their investigations with the hunt for Pooley's killer a top priority for the service.
Asante Kotoko lost the game in Nsuatre 1-0 but sit top of the Ghana Premier League table.
