Asamoah Gyan is hoping for a flying start for the Black Stars in the opening group match against DR Congo on Sunday.
The Ghana captain believes the team is ready to meet the enormous expectations of the nation in the opening Group B fixture at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
The Black Stars received a highly-powered government delegation led by the Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani after the teamââ¬â¢s final training session on Saturday.
It was at this open meeting where it was disclosed a concealed request made by the players during their pre-Nations Cup camping in Abu Dhabi has been approved by the state.
Gyan thus on behalf of the playing bodyin thanking the government for the massive support given says it is now left to the players to deliver on the pitch.
ââ¬ÅEverything has been said and done, the press, the talking, everything has been said,â⬠he said.
ââ¬ÅTomorrow is the day, we are hereà to represent the nation. All the fans who came from Ghana yesterday, we saw them at the training grounds.
ââ¬ÅIt has boosted the confidence of the players and hopefully à tomorrow we are going to deliver to the nation.
ââ¬ÅIt is left to the players to deliver on the field so I would like to thank everybody, the press, the government and also my greetings to the President as usual.ââ¬
