Mohammed Kudus is absolutely thriving in his new role as a forward, scoring his seventh goal of the season over the weekend.
The Ghanaian easily scored for Ajax on Sunday, but it wasn't enough as the Dutch champions were defeated by AZ Alkmaar in their first league defeat of the season.
Kudus had the easiest task, rolling the ball into an empty net to finish off a brilliantly worked move to put Ajax ahead after 12 minutes, but the home side fought back with two goals to clinch victory.
Despite Ajax's defeat, Kudus was praised for extending his goal-scoring streak to five games. The midfielder, who was desperate to leave Ajax during the summer transfer window due to a lack of regular minutes, is now the team's best player.
Kudus arrives in Ghana's camp in top form and will be expected to show it in pre-World Cup friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua.
