There’s no football on TV at the moment – and not for the foreseeable future either – so it’s a good thing there’s plenty of old games to look back on and enjoy.
We all remember Michael Essien’s thunderbolt against Arsenal – but do you remember this effort too? On this day in 2006 against Everton, he drilled in a super strike as Chelsea marched to their second consecutive title. There is, as they say, no stopping those.
When you see the other players in that team, you do start to wonder how we ever lost a game at all that year.
