Ghanaian youngster Tahiru Awudu had a debut to cherish for CF Fuenlabrada after scoring in the opening fixture of the 2020/21 Spanish Segunda Division against CD Lugo.

Awudu, 20, joined the Estadio Fernando Torres outfit on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy from Ghana Premier League side Medeama SC some few days ago.

The talented poacher was surprisingly named in coach José Sandoval starting line-up in the opening day fixture against CD Lugo at the Estádio Fernando Torres on Sunday.

Awudu wasted no time in announcing himself to his new fans by notching the opening goal in the 65th minute.

French youngster Randy Ntekja sealed the victory for CF Fuenlabrada with a superb strike in the 70th minute.

Awudu was replaced with Ruben Pulido in the 86th minute.

He was touted as one of the best young players in the Ghanaian top-flight league during the 2018/19 season which ended abruptly.

Following his exploits in the league, he was handed a call-up to Ghana U20 team ahead of the 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.

He also earned an invitation to the Ghana U23 team during the CAF U23 Cup of Nations qualifiers under Coach Ibrahim Tanko.

He spent second half of the season at Spanish third-tier club Fútbol Alcobendas Sport.
