Legon Cities forward Asamoah Gyan is pleased with his side's performance in their goalless draw against Medeama SC on match day three of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.

The legendary Ghanaian forward was making his debut for the club since signing in the transfer window, marking his return to the topflight after a seventeen year sojourn abroad.

"It's good to be back home, this is where the brand Asamoah Gyan began so I am very very happy ," he said after the game.

"This year I think this is my very first game after eight months so I am very happy. I need to do some work physically then I think I'm ready to go.

"Mentally I am okay, you know the dedication is there but I need to work on my physical ability."

Legon Cities fired coach Goran Barjakterevic last week after their defeat to Great Olympics.

The club has appointed veteran manager Bashir Hayford to take charge till the end of the campaign, and Gyan is impressed with the improved performance last night.

"I think today the willingness was there, in the past two games there wasn't any positive thing, we wee just running and not creating any chances and it was a big worry. We had to do a couple of meetings, we had to changes tactics because the new coach (Walid), he took over," he said.

"I was encouraging them mentally, but tactically the coach had to do his thing so that was what we saw today. The boys have done a great job. Honestly I'm satisfied because we were able to create chances and I am very positive about the next game."
