Hearts of Oak made it back-to-back wins for the first time this season after cruising to victory against on Sunday night.

Second-half goals from Kofi Kodzi and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh ensured that reigning league champions secured maximum points.

The Phobians should have had their noses in front after Gladson Awako found forward Afriyie Barnieh in a good position but the striker fired wide.

Accra Lions controlled possession but could not create goal-scoring opportunities.

Halfway through the first half, the game had to be halted after goalkeeper Fredrick Asare of Lions was impeded by Fatawu Mohammed.

The game could not produce a goal in the first half, and after the break, returning coach Samuel Boadu replaced Benjamin Yorke with Kwadjo Obeng Jnr as Kofi Kordzi came on for Isaac Mensah.

The changes produced instant results as Obeng Jnr fed Kodzi for the opener in the 62nd minute.

Six minutes later, Afriyie Barnieh doubled the lead with a clinical finish as Hearts of Oak took control of the match.
