Vision FC coach praises Kotoko's tactical discipline in pre-season friendly

Vision FC head coach Nana Kwaku Agyemang has praised Asante Kotoko's tactical discipline following their 2-1 defeat in a pre-season friendly match on Sunday.

The encounter, held as part of the build-up to the new season, saw Kotoko triumph over the newly promoted side.

Amoah's first-half brace was the difference in the game, with the Porcupine Warriors demonstrating their ability to exploit spaces and capitalise on opportunities.

Agyemang acknowledged Kotoko's strategic approach, noting their patience and ability to wait for the right moments to strike.

"Kotoko's organization and discipline were impressive," said Agyemang. "They don't press high but instead wait for spaces in the opponent's team and make the most of them. They did this effectively in the first half, but I adjusted our strategy in the second half to close those spaces."

He further commented on Kotoko's ability to break through defensive lines and suggested that with a bit more potency in attack, they could pose a significant threat to many teams in the upcoming season.

Kotoko, who finished sixth last season, have undergone significant changes, offloading over 20 players and bringing in 12 new signings.

The new season kicks off on September 6, 2024, with Kotoko set to face Karela United in their opening match, while Vision FC will face Berekum Chelsea.
