Vitoria Guimaraes coach Rui Vitoria says his decision to drop Ghana defender David Addy in the 2-1 home defeat to Pacos de Ferriera is only tactical.

The 21-year-old has been one of the regular performers for the Conquerors this season but was shockingly left out of the side for the weekend league clash.

The Vitoria fans are demanding answers from their coach for his decision to drop the Black Stars defender following the surprise 2-1 home defeat.

But coach Rui Vitoria insists his decision was based on tactical reasons and nothing else with reports the side is trying to bully the Ghanaian – who is out of contract this summer – into signing an extension.

“[David] Addy? It was a choice made ??in consciousness,” Rui Vitoria explained.

“The team prepares the right elements to put some time and this was the case, all in a measured way."

Vitoria Guimaraes have dropped to seventh in the South African top flightbut are just three points adrift an Europa League qualification spot.
