New Palermo coach Fabio Viviani has named the sending off of Sinisa Andelkovic as a key moment in their 4-0 loss to Genoa on Sunday.

Andelkovic was shown red after committing an unnecessary tackle soon after the hour mark and the Rosanero went on to concede three goals from the then one, resulting in a 4-0 thrashing by relegation-battle rivals Genoa.

“We were in the game up until the 65th minute when we went down to ten men,” Viviani said.

“The expulsion of Andelkovic was decisive, because until then we were in the game.”

Discussing the situation in the dressing room at Palermo, Viviani said how everyone wants to work together to quickly resolve the issues, following the sacking of Davide Ballardini.

“There has to be someone to guide them, it’s true,” he said.

“The group is healthy and they want to reach a quick solution.”

The loss for Palermo against Genoa puts them in 17th place in the Serie A table.
