Ghana Premier League side WAFA SC have announced defender Gideon Mensah has joined Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg on a five-year deal.
But GHANASoccernet.com understands the left back will be loaned to the club’s second-tier side FC Liefering for more first team experience.
The club’s website on Wednesday reported: “Defender Gideon Mensah has signed a five-year contract with Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg.
“The left back put pen to paper on Wedneday after a successful trial session.
“Mensah will team up with Samuel Tetteh who also signed for the club last month.
“We wish him all the best in his endeavours.”
