WAFU U20 Championship: Black Satellites depart to Niger to defend title

Ghana's Black Satellites have departed to Niger for the upcoming WAFU U20 Cup of Nations.

The Black Satellites will be defending the trophy they won in 2020 in Benin after beating Burkina Faso 2-1 in the finals.

Coach Karim Zito is traveling with an 18-man squad and seven technical team members.

Ghana has been pitted in Group B of the tournament against Nigeria and Burkina Faso.

The national U-20 team will begin their campaign against Nigeria on May 8 before taking on the Young Stallions of Burkina Faso on May 14.

The U-20 WAFU Zone B Cup of Nations, Niger 2022 is slated for Niamey from Saturday, May 7 -20, 2022.

The biennial tournament also serves as qualifiers for the Totalenergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations
