Ghana youth midfielder Wakaso Mubarak saw his Villarreal side relegated from the Spanish top flight on Sunday.
The 22-year-old played the last six minutes for the Yellow Submarines as they succumbed to a Radamel Falcao last-gasp strike to lose 1-0 to Atletico Madrid.
Wakaso made six appearances in all competitions for Villarreal's first team during the course of the season.
He is expected to remain with the side in the Segunda Division and help them regain their top flight status.
