A fan of German Bundesliga III side Waldhof Mannheim has filed a complaint against the social media racist abuse suffered by winger Anton Donkor.
The German-born Ghanaian was racial abused by a social media user after posting a picture of himself on Instagram.
A disappointed Donkor posted after the incident,"Very sad that you will still get such comments in 2021.”
Donkor’s club Waldhof Mannheim were first to react to the case, and pledged to have the user investigated in support of the Ghanaian.
However, a fan added his voice by filing a report to German prosecutors to investigate the abuse face by the player.
Initial investigation reveal the account is from a fake user but Police will continue to search and punish the perpetrator.
Meanwhile, the former Everton and Wolfsburg player is enjoying a good campaign, having scored four goals in 24 appearances this season.
