Wassaman looking for survival boost with AshGold win

Wassaman United will be hoping to get all three points when they host AshantiGold in the Premier League on Sunday.

The team eased their relegation woes with a vital away win over fellow strugglers Bechem United last weekend and will be now looking to move further away from the dreaded zone against the Obuasi lads at the Sekondi Essipong Stadium.

Head coach Yusif Abubakar who was brought in to lead the charge for survival in the second round believes his side is heading towards the right direction.

"The objective is to move the team from where it is lying," he said.

"So we are still hoping to get the results in subsequent matches. It will not be easy at all.

"Most people will not give the team a chance to survive considering where the team was when I came in in the second round.

"But I feel we are on course for survival and hopefully we can continue with it this weekend against AshGold."

Wassaman currently lie 14th on the Premier League log, six points adrift of safety going into matchday 17 of the 2011/2012 Glo Premier League.
