Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah was in full time action for Juventus in their Italian Serie A slim win over Sampdoria in their season opener on Saturday.

Juventus manager Antonio Conte named the 24-year-old in his midfield for the Scudetto title-holders at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris as they clinched the narrow victory thanks to a Carlos Tevez finish just before the hour mark.

Asamoah came close to putting the 'Old Ladies' in front in the 23rd minute as he goal-bound effort from a Arturo Vidal corner kick was tipped just over the bar by Angelo Da Costa.

Juventus pushed more men forward and pecked their host but Sampdoria remained resilient until French U20 starlet Paul Pogba set up Tevez for the only of the game in the 58th minute.

Asamoah is chasing his second Scudetto title after winning the title on his first season with the European giants.
