Watford step up interest in Fiorentina midfielder

English Premier League side Watford have upped their interest in Fiorentina midfielder Mario Suarez.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move elsewhere after failing to settle in Florence since his summer arrival from Atletico Madrid.

Firenzeviola.it report that the midfielder has already taken steps to confirm his departure after he cancelled the parking garage where he stores his car.

The Spaniard has been reduced to five Serie A starts under Paulo Sousa this term, with the impressive form of preferred midfield pairing Milan Badelj and Matias Vecino having propelled the Viola to third-place.

The source suggests that Suarez’s fractious relationship with his coach has also played a part in his desire to depart Italy.

Watford appear the keenest to secure the midfielder’s signature as the Hornets look to consolidate their status in the Premier League.
