Danlad Ibrahim, former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, recently shared his admiration for Frederick Asare, the club’s current keeper, emphasizing their close friendship.
"I and Frederick Asare are like brothers, teammates, and friends," Ibrahim revealed in an interview with Nationalist TV. "I always advised him based on the experience I got from the national team. He has been doing so well, and I am proud of him."
Now with Ethiopian side Coffee SC, Ibrahim's journey with Kotoko began in 2016. Though initially loaned out, he eventually became Kotoko’s first-choice goalkeeper, making 69 Ghana Premier League appearances. His remarkable career includes winning the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana in 2021 and securing a place in the Black Stars squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
However, last season saw a shift, with Ibrahim losing his starting position, and Kotoko ultimately opted not to renew his contract. Despite moving on, his bond with Asare remains strong, showcasing a friendship that extends well beyond the pitch.
