Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan believes the Black Stars' statistically superior over Lesotho would inspire them to victory over the Southern Africans.

The Black Stars thrashed the Crocodiles 7-0 in the reverse fixture last June at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Ghana, four time African champions, have won all three previous encounters with the minnows scoring 13 goals and conceding just 3 in the process.

Kwesi Appiah's men need maximum points from Maseru to keep alive their hopes of making appearance in Brazil next year.

And, Gyan remains optimistic of Ghana's chances of making a third straight appearance.

"Statistically we are better than them and the determination to play at the World Cup keeps us working harder," he told Happy FM's Charles Osei Asibey.

Gyan officially became Ghana's second all-time top scorer with 34 goals after bagging a double against Sudan last Friday in Omdurman.
