Black Stars striker Antoine Semenyo has expressed confidence in Ghana's national team, stating that they have one of the best teams in Africa.
Semenyo's comments come after Ghana took a commanding lead in Group I of the World Cup qualifying series, defeating Chad and Madagascar during the recent international break. Ghana now sits three points clear of second-placed Comoros with four games remaining.
The attacker, who scored in Ghana's 5-0 drubbing of Chad, emphasized the importance of Ghana qualifying for the World Cup. "Hopefully, by September, we can win one game or qualify for the World Cup, and then in 2026, we can show the world what a team we are," Semenyo said.
Semenyo, who played in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, believes Ghana deserves to be recognized as one of Africa's top teams. "We have one of the best African teams... I feel like we just need to show the world what we can do. So the World Cup would be great."
