Newly unveiled Black Queens coach, Kim Lars Bjorkegren beleives the team has the potential to be successful.
The Swedish trainer has signed a two-year contract, taking over from Nora Häuptle, who has moved on to coach Zambia’s Copper Queens after failing to renew her deal with the GFA.
Speaking at his unveiling, the 43-year-old expressed optimism about leading the team to success.
"The most important aspect of my job is to visit all the players, watch games, and help them improve," Bjorkegren said.
"Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but I think the most important thing for me, the staff, and the players is to work hard every single day to ensure that we will be successful sooner or later.
Bjorkegren also highlighted Ghana’s rich pool of talent, expressing confidence in both short-term and long-term success.
"I can see so much talent in this country, so I am really sure that, in the short term, we have the potential to be successful. In the long term, I can always guarantee that we will be successful."
Bjorkegren's first game in charge will be a friendly against Morocco on February 21, as part of preparations for the Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in July.
The Black Queens are set to compete in Group C alongside South Africa, Mali, and Tanzania.
